Mass Prophylaxis
The current project for the Mass Prophylaxis Working Group is an Exercise based on the release of aerosolized anthrax. Future Mass Prophy Working Group Meetings will be focused on the planning efforts for the successful conduct of a HSEEP compliant exercise.
The exercise is expected to encompass three modules of play; Virtual Joint Information Center (JIC) on March 17, 2009, Point of Dispensing (POD) exercise to occur in Alameda County on March 19, 2009, and Receipt, Storage and Stage (RSS) exercise to occur in Napa County on April 10, 2009. The ICF International team supporting this exercise will include Bob Vork, Beth Armentano, Tana Alert, and James Welsh under the direction of the Bay Area SUASI Program Manager, Ms. Caryn Thornburg. The exercises are being developed utilizing Super Urban Area Security Initiative (SUASI) funds for the ten counties and three core cities in the Bay Area.
The Bay Area Mass Prophylaxis Initial Planning Conference (IPC) is going to be held on Thursday, December 18, 2008 from 10 am until 2 pm.
